First Christmas

Everett celebrated his first Christmas this year. In general, he was more interested in Miriam and Naomi opening their gifts than his own.
What a cheeseball!

Opa, don't eat my puffs!

Reading with my Auntie.

Practicing for our Florida trip in the Children's Museum sand table. So far no sand was eaten or flung into our eyes! I'm not holding out much hope that this trend will continue when he is surrounded by it.

First cereal, Katherine Forsyth, Rocking out

Everett and Daddy rock out in the basement while Mommy goes to a meeting.

Late in June Bethany Drennan Forsyth visited with her new (adorable) baby Katherine and husband John. We all went to see Butler for the day, but forgot our cameras!
In mid-July Everett had his first taste of rice cereal. He loved it. Of course, he now eats all kinds of purees; I am terrible at updating his post!

Becca's wedding

On June 20th Everett, Mommy, Oma and Antie Katie went to North Carolina to attend Becca and Sten's wedding. The weather was HOT, but we had a great time and it was such a beautiful wedding!

Ready to party! On the dance floor he was the center of attention!

Becca and Cyndi teach him some new moves...

All tuckered out. Auntie Kate has the last dance of the night.

Baptism

In early June Everett was baptized at the First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville.
This photo was taken just before Everett felt it necessary to baptize Mark with spit-up. He looks so innocent!

VACATION!!

Everett and the family made their way to Florida for a week in late May and early June, which of course means lots of fun in the sun and water and tons of pictures.

I am ready for my closeup!

Taking in the sunset. (Note the nice drool ring on the Bjorn!)
Everett trying to flip off the camera? Wrong finger buddy!

Playing with Daddy on the Lanai.

I am Popeye the Sailor Man!

Whole family enjoys an evening on the beach.

During the trip Everett had a few milestones, one is pictured here. He found his toes while in Florida, and they have been fascinating discoveries. This is pretty much his standard stance now; one hand on foot the other in mouth. Everett also rolled over from his stomach to back both directions (to his left and his right) while in Florida.

MMMMMM...Bjorn!

Seriously, how cute is he?

I mean, can you stand it?!?

and the sun sets on Everett and our vacation...

Three Months Old...and a Surprise!

First and foremost, Everett celebrated three months today! Does not seem like that long for Mommy or Daddy, but the calendar does not lie. We celebrated the day by taking a trip to church, followed by lunch with Oma and Opa. Then we headed to Christina's 30th birthday party, and ended the day at the cabin for some s'mores.

Here Everett poses with Molly for his monthly photo (he really enjoys time without his clothing)

Along with celebrating three months, Everett hit another milestone this weekend...

At first glance this looks like a normal baby picture...

but let's zoom in on that white box...

Yup, a tooth!

We found Everett's first tooth yesterday (April 18, 2009). So it took exactly 90 days to pop out a pearly white. I guess now Everett has something in common with thousands of people in West Virginia. One tooth! Hopefully he has several more that will follow.

Happy Three Months!

Easter/12 Week Birth Anniversary

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. It is hard to find enough time to sit at the computer. We would both rather be with Everett...

We celebrated Everett's first Easter this weekend. We visited friends and family at two separate gatherings. This of course means Everett got to pass from person to person two days in a row. We managed to snap a few photos along the way...

Everett with his cousins (second cousins I think, but I never can figure out how that works) Lucas and Logan. Looks like triple trouble to me.

Everett and Daddy enjoying his first egg hunt.

Aunt Jodi with some rare Everett time...she totally owned that ring stacker. She is like the master of that thing!

Speaking of triple trouble...the whole crew at Easter church. I guess we can check "E" off for this year and work towards "C"

Everett and Mommy looking for eggs at the second egg hunt...I think he sees one!

And Finally, Everett's critically acclaimed, long awaited motion picture debut!

Happy 12 Week Birth-Anniversary Buddy!!!

Lindsey Barton Stops By

Lindsey came for a visit on Saturday. Everett was enthralled by this new person. Of course she is the tallest woman he has ever seen (and with the size of most of the women in the family, likely for a while).

One Month!!!

Everett is celebrating one month today! Mom and dad don't think that seems possible, but the calendar says February 19.

Here is a G Rated version of Everett enjoying his first bath. The bath went fairly well with little fussing.

As if there were a question...

ZZZZZZZZ

Everett snoozing away a Thursday afternoon.

Everett Comes Home

Everett had his first glimpse of his new home Wednesday evening.

His new cousins Miriam and Naomi stopped by to introduce themselves and enjoy some dinner. They brought along Aunt Kate, Uncle Sean, Oma and Opa for the visit. Overall, first evening at home went well.

Getting closer....

Anna is at 9 cm as of 2:00.

Water Broken

At a little after noon, the water was broken.

At the Hospital

We have been at the hospital since 7:00 this morning for the inducton. Thus far she has the IV hooked up and has received some antibiotics and Pitocin to get the show on the road. She is starting to feel some contractions but they have not been too severe thus far. Ann and Kate are here to keep her entertained, which I think is helping a lot.

So far, the one liners of the morning have been from the anesthesiologists :
  1. "So, I see you are suffering from sperm infection."
  2. "Is it going to have indoor or outdoor plumbing?"
  3. "Don't worry...I read up on this (epidural) last night at Kendall's Tavern."
More to come as details come in...
